A young Australian company

Jungle Brolly specialises in the development, marketing and distribution of unique and effective natural barrier creams.

HandShield, Jungle Brolly’s hero product, is the best barrier cream in the world. Its attributes are unique; so varied are its benefits that some retailers have had difficulty determining where it should be merchandised.

From inception

Big Red Dog assisted developing the company name, logo and product names and has developed all packaging. The challenge when designing for Jungle Brolly has been keeping the range tight, given the extremely broad target demographic – from the household consumer (home makers, mothers and the occasional handyman) through to those in the manufacturing, commercial and service industries.

Elements kept consistent on packaging are the icon, oval, background leaf and supporting type. The product name and colour palette can be revised on a product by product basis.

This approach allows us to alternate between the softness of BabyShield and the blokey-ness of HandShield Industrial.

HandShield really is an amazing breakthrough in natural hand protection. Throughout our long association with Jungle Brolly the unsolicited feedback from users has been phenomenal. The most compelling stories are from those who have suffered with hand conditions for many years and have finally had a breakthrough after trialling HandShield. Often the state of a person’s hands has been the result of years of exposure to chemicals, cleaners and other substances. The consistent use of HandShield has allowed the skin to heal itself without continued exposure to harmful chemicals.

Not just another barrier cream

We determined that the best way to elevate HandShield above standard barrier creams was by using the phrase liquid gloves. Being consistent with this key message has greatly helped the Jungle Brolly sales team as they’ve marketed HandShield across Australia.

BabyShield

BabyShield is formulated for infants. It has both preventative and restorative attributes, helping prevent nappy rash as well as help the healing process when an infant is suffering from nappy rash. The design maintains key elements of Jungle Brolly product branding with a soft, gentle palette.

Broad acceptance

In addition to identity and packaging, we have developed vehicle graphics, point of sale, campaigns for print media and general marketing for just about every medium possible. Jungle Brolly’s foray into Australian retail has been rapid, especially given its small size and limited budget.

You will find HandShield in Target, Bunnings, SuperCheap Auto, Mitre 10, plus thousands of hardware, retail and pharmaceutical outlets across Australia.

HANDSHIELD ONLINE

Initially the Jungle Brolly site was about information and an online shop. As the product has become more readily available in retail the site is transitioning into a brand and health resource. The colour palette of the site is tonal, gentle and neutral, giving us a great palette to feature strongly coloured products. It sits on the open source Mod-X framework.

FootShield

A few of our experimental customers started using HandShield on their feet – with great results! Jungle Brolly has now formulated FootShield especially for feet. It helps prevent foot odour and assists in maintaining good skin condition for those working in moist conditions, such as miners.

The product branding positions FootShield as a complimentary product to HandShield.

Rally car fun!

In 2009 Barry Kirk competed in the 2 wheel drive class of the Australian Rally Championship in his HandShield-sponsored Mitsubishi Cyborg. Next time we saw the HandShield Cyborg it was wrapped around a tree! Go Barry.
